An incredible performance.

While I am not generally a fan of seeing performances at Hammerstein Ballroom, I am without question a fan of RKS. The show (as viewed from the front of the balcony) was an incredible performance. RKS has super upped their stage presence, getting a little dancey here and there. The lights were so very their style and added so much to the show. This band is hands-down one of my favourites, and they are such amazing live performers. I could prattle on for days. TL;DR: RKS is one of the greatest bands to exist, and this show was nothing short of a true spectacle.

New Fan

Rainbow Kitten Surprise is a very fun group with a great sound. The crowd was a very good crowd also. I was impressed at how many people knew all the words to the songs. I look forward to following the success of this group. I have only been listening to them for a few months. I had tickets to Lucinda Williams this same night but it was postponed. Wanted to go to both shows but that wasn't going to happen. Now maybe I'll still get to see Lucinda, when they reschedule and got to see RKS!!

RKS doesn't fail to surprise

A few years ago I happened to see Rainbow Kitten Surprise in a bar in Jacksonville with maybe 100 people in attendance, flash forward and they're playing to a sold out show at the House of Blues. The quality of their music has just improved with time and the show is packed with songs from all three studios albums, they also mixed in a couple of the B-sides. Lead singer Sam Melo paces the show with lots of energy and I don't think it would be an RKS show if he didn't lose his shirt :) I would strongly suggest if you get the chance to see them live, you should!

not handicap friendly

I love RKS and they put on an amazing sounding show! Sadly, I was unable to see the stage at all as everyone got up and stood/jumped/danced in the stairways and exit areas in front of me. I am unable to stand for an entire show, so I was excited that the show would be in a seated theater. But unfortunately I was only able to hear it and could not see the performance in any way. This was incredibly disappointing. The opener Twen is also a wonderful band that puts on a great show, but the sound team failed them as the audience was only able to hear the instruments and not the incredible lead singer. This was thankfully fixed for RKS and we were able to hear them clearly.
